iRideKigali’s guides leading a thrilling adventure across Kenya with a group from one of our esteemed tour agency partners.
After running operations successfully in Nairobi for 7 years, iRide expanded its vision regionally and established iRideAfrica as the corporate entity to oversee operations across East Africa. With offices already operating in Nairobi and Arusha, and new locations soon opening in Mombasa and Dar Es Salaam, iRideAfrica is strategically positioned to offer extensive local tours and seamless cross-border rental services throughout the region. Each location provides dedicated customer support on-site, while maintaining the proven maintenance and customer service standards that made iRide successful.
Going forward, iRideAfrica envisions further expansion across the African continent, building a reliable and professional network of motorcycle rental and touring services to deliver exceptional experiences to clients.
iRide Kigali partnered with a tour agency to craft a 7-day loop through the Land of a Thousand Hills. Start in Kigali, sweep past tea estates into Nyungwe National Park, cruise the Lake Kivu shoreline (Rusizi → Karongi → Rubavu), ride beneath the Virunga peaks around Musanze, then finish with wildlife in Akagera National Park before returning to Kigali.
Mountain weather? No problem—our guides keep things smooth with a support vehicle and mechanics on standby. Riders praise the mix of tarmac and light gravel, lake and volcano scenery, wildlife encounters, and genuine cultural moments.
For a quick yet impactful escape, iRide Kigali crafted a 3-day loop with a trusted tour partner. Day one rolls out of Kigali toward Musanze, sweeping past terraced hills and tea country to viewpoints under the Virunga volcanoes (with optional stops at the Twin Lakes, Burera & Ruhondo). Day two curves to Rubavu (Gisenyi) along the Lake Kivu corniche—lakeside lunch, an optional boat ride, and coffee tastings on the shore. Day three traces scenic backroads via Karongi (Kibuye) and returns to Kigali with long, flowing twisties and big-view photo stops.
Throughout the tour, daily briefings, flexible routing, and a support vehicle with mechanics on standby kept things smooth—even when mountain weather turned moody. Riders loved the mix of silky tarmac and optional gravel, dramatic lake-and-volcano scenery, and authentic cultural encounters along the way—another showcase of iRide Kigali’s seamless, high-standard tour design.
iRide partnered with Motor Trails and Dragon Trails in 2023 for a truly unique expedition from Cape Town to Nairobi. iRide shipped the bikes by container down to Cape Town where over 10 courageous dutch riders started the expedition back to Nairobi. The tour made its way through Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Uganda back to Kenya. The group experienced countless adventures along the way from unforeseen border shenanigans, to adverse weather conditions and unexpected animal encounters.
iRide was responsible for the motorcycles as well as the support vehicle. An iRide mechanic accompanied the tour and carried out daily maintenance but also fixed several bigger issues including 2 failed crankshafts. At one point additional spares had to be sent by plane from Nairobi to Lusaka to top-up the existing spare inventory. An iRide driver was responsible for carrying all of the luggage in the support vehicle. It was a difficult task keeping up with the riders across very rough terrain. In the end when the group got back to Nairobi, there was a sense of jubilation and relief for having completed over 2 months of riding across southern Africa.
